Public Services Manager - Round Rock Public Library

Manages the Reference and Circulation Department as well as assists the Director with projects targeting adult populations.

Example of Work Performed

Creates and manages policy and procedures in the public services division which includes the traditional functions of circulation and reference.  The division has 19 employees manning a 71 hour work week, Monday - Sunday, in a two story facility. Identifies and implements programs that enhance the public service function. Develops, approves, and monitors the Public Services budget; assists the director in the department's overall budget process. Measures performance of public services staff and services; works closely with other managers in collection development, children's services, and systems, administration/information technology as they impact public services. Works in the public services area as needed. Assists the Director in community activities long-term planning of library facilities and services. Serves as Director in the Director's absence. Office Coordinator - Central Texas Library System, Inc.

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, provides administrative, programmatic, and financial management support to the organization.   Prepares statistical reports for the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC).  Maintains the Large Print Circuit, Deposit, and Professional Collections.  Manages the Library Bargain Hunter program and serves as the editor of the monthly newsletter of the organization.  Acts as the Records Retention Officer for the organization.  Performs preliminary financial work for the contract accounting firm. Prepares timesheets and preliminary payroll documents for the contract accounting firm.  Maintains inventory of system assets and property.

Public Services Librarian - Cedar Park Public Library

Salary: Starting monthly salary is $2,840 + DOQ
Description:
The City of Cedar Park is seeking qualified applicants for a Public Services Librarian to operate the City’s library efficiently and ensure the library meets the needs of the community.
Duties include providing acquisition of patrons, promoting the Library and managing its operations, including acquisition of adult/teen materials, reference functions and adult/teen programming.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Information Studies from an American Library Association accredited college. Knowledge of municipal library operations and library reference systems. Experience in adult or teen programming preferred; ability to work evenings and weekends. Miscellaneous:

Director, Educational Information Systems  - McLennan Community College

McClennan Community College in Waco, TX. Job Desciption: Provide leadership in the management and application of educational information within the College's research, planning, and information technology division. This position will work closely with the College's Dean of Distance Education to ensure instructional information management and instructional technology systems are integrated. This position will be directly responsible for library operations including reference, circulation, reserves, periodicals, collection development, electronic resources management, automation, and technology. As part of a recent reorganization of the college's information systems, the Director of Educational Information Systems will work with the Director of Information Systems and Services and the Director of Program Review and Planning.
