2015 Texas Public Libraries Annual Report is Available

If you need help with your Annual Report, just give the CTLS office a call! We would be happy to help.

From the TSLAC website:

The Texas Public Libraries Annual Report form is now ready for the 2015 data! Texas LibPAS (https://tx.countingopinions.com/), the data collection portal for the Texas Public Library Annual Report, is now open. This online form collects information about the library for its local fiscal year 2015, including revenue and expenditures, collection, circulation and service information.

Collection of these statistics may assist in local library advocacy. Also, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission participates in a national public library data collection system and the data is used for the creation of a composite report on the public libraries of the United States and for state-to-state comparisons by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Finally, some data elements in this report are used to accredit public libraries in the state of Texas. Accredited libraries can take advantage of the TexShare card and database programs, the agency’s competitive grants, statewide interlibrary loan, and E-rate – the federal telecommunications discount program.

On the Annual Report webpage, and on the LibPAS landing page, you will find links to

  • Instructions for the online form,
  • Sample Annual Report worksheet,
  • Population and MOE Planning Tool,
  • Information on reporting downloadable items,
  • Benefits of accreditation and more!

While there are no changes in the information collected this year, if you are a new director, or need to refresh your memory, register for the webinar next Tuesday, January 12th: Introduction to the 2015 Texas Public Library Annual Report (https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7514202472367084289). If you are not available for the 2 -3 p.m. session, the webinar will be archived and the link sent to you, so you can watch it when convenient.

If you have not received this email, or you have questions about the Texas Public Libraries Annual Report, please contact Valicia Greenwood or Stacey Malek by email or call within Texas toll-free 800/252-9386.
