My CTLS Family

As some of you may know, beginning in January I will be the youth services librarian at the Yarborough branch of the Austin Public Library. It is with a heavy heart that I leave my CTLS family. Over my almost 10 years at CTLS, I feel deeply in love with public libraries. Enough so that I earned my Masters during this time so that I could better support them. I have been continually encouraged to grow professionally which leads me to make this move today. I will forever be grateful for the education and support I have gotten over the years from Pat Tuohy, Laurie Mahaffey, Suzan Nyfeler, Kim Lehman, Holly Gordon, Jennifer Patterson, and Paul Waak. They are, of course, just a small part of my CTLS family.

The rest of it is all of you. All of the Texas libraries I have had the pleasure to assist over the years. In my time as a consultant with CTLS, I have learned so much from all of you. In every project I have tried to put an emphasis in sharing knowledge with each other because it is from you, who are in the stacks day after day being innovative and creative, where so much knowledge really comes. I look forward to continuing to learn from you all and hope you will keep in touch. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and my professional blog where I hope to continue sharing with other youth librarians in this new adventure. And, of course, you will continue to see me active on our email lists, CTLS-L and CTLS-Youth.

Thank you for all that you have given me over the years. My time with CTLS has been a life-changing experience that I will always cherish. While I am sad to say goodbye, I am thrilled to join your ranks and serve the Texas public.

Most sincerely,
Katelyn Patterson
