Library Ghouls in Presidio

Presidio Halloween Costume Contest

Check out the ghouls that haunted the Presidio Library this Halloween! Prizes were awarded for the Scariest, Funniest, and Most Original costumes at the City of Presidio Library on October 30th. Forty-five children participated in the contest. Local stores and volunteers sponsored the prizes for the children. They would like to say a special thank you to Dollar General, Alco Deptartment Store, Farmers Insurance, Bealls, Porter’s Thriftway, Ponchos Pizza and Big Bend Banks of Presidio for their support of the event.

Texas Library Snapshot Day!

The Texas Library Association’s annual Library Snapshot Day celebration is officially scheduled for October 31, but libraries can select any day in October as their Snapshot Day. This event offers libraries a framework for promoting services, inviting the public and media to the library, and capturing important information that can be used in advocacy and promotional materials.

TLA’s official Snapshot Day website – www.texaslibrarysnapshotday.org – has resources (e.g., a sample press release, customer/student input forms, instructions for submitting final data and uploading photographs, video/photo permissions form, tips for using the information, and much more!).

Thanks to Gloria Meraz at TLA for this information.
